Family contact is about more than completing court-ordered hours. Time with family contributes to a young person’s identity, belonging and understanding of their family story. We provide safe, planned and purposeful contact, with the child or young person’s safety and wellbeing at the centre.
We provide transport, supervision and observation for approved family contact, as set out in the referral and confirmed booking.
The referring agency completes our short referral form. We review it, then send a written quote with terms and conditions. Sessions begin once the booking is approved and confirmed.
Where transport is part of the booking, we arrange pick-up and return so the child or young person gets to and from contact safely.
A trained worker stays for the full session, supporting positive interactions and observing. Sessions are held in public spaces or locations arranged by the family or Child Safety.
The worker provides factual notes to Child Safety after contact, so everyone involved has a clear, accurate record.
The young person’s safety is paramount. We may pause or end a session if safety is compromised.
Family members and participants are asked to follow reasonable instructions from the supervising worker during the session.
Incidents, disclosures of harm or serious concerns are reported to Child Safety and, where required, Queensland Police.
Where appropriate and with consent, we can help capture photos and moments that support a young person’s life-story work and sense of connection.
A meal allowance for the child can be included if requested.
We do not operate a dedicated contact house. Sessions run in public spaces or locations arranged by family or Child Safety.
Send us the completed referral form (about 1–2 pages). We review service requirements, availability and support needs, then provide a formal quote. Our pricing guide and terms of business, including cancellation arrangements, are available on request.
