How we keep people safe

Our safeguards

Child safe organisation

We are committed to the ten Child Safe Standards and the Universal Principle of cultural safety under the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024. We have zero tolerance for child abuse, exploitation or neglect.

Screened and trained people

Workers hold a current Blue Card (or exemption) and complete suitability screening before working with young people. Outreach staff also complete sector training, including PeakCare modules, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, first aid and our induction.

Risk managed every time

A dynamic risk assessment is completed before every outreach contact and outdoor activity. Workers use real-time check-in and check-out with a supervisor, and follow clear escalation procedures.

Quality framework

Our systems, policies and evidence are designed to align with all six Human Services Quality Standards (HSQF). We are working through the HSQF certification pathway for our service type.

Cultural safety

We support young people’s connection to family, kin, community, culture and Country, and ensure our practice is culturally responsive for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.

Privacy and records

Information is handled in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Queensland requirements. It is stored securely, accessed only by those who need it, and shared only with Child Safety and authorised professionals or as required by law.
